Nationalist Congress party and (non Nationalist ) Congress

Nationalist congress party of Sharad Pawar and other (not nationalist) Congress of Sonia Gandhi, used to differ on only one issue that is, foreign origin of Sonia Gandhi. Over the years the situation has changed and Sharad Pawar or his party men has no issues with origin of Sonia Gandhi, then for what reasons Sharad Pawar is still maintaining his separate identity?

The issue is brought forth by Congressmen in Maharashtra and Digvijay Singh from MP a congress office bearer, just before the finalizing the understanding for state elections in Maharashtra, between these two parties. It is absolutely right on their part to raise this question. But Sharad Pawar is silent, he knows that, he is going through a bad phase in his political career. The losses in General Elections 2009 and the arrest of his close friend and relative Mr. Padmasinh Patil has worsened the situation for him.

I love Konkan

Just back from Konkan, it is refreshing. You feel charged up, with such a break in a while. I enjoy my native place during heat of may and Ganapati festival, both the times Konkan presents a different hue and texture. The August-September in Konkan is most refreshing period according to my senses. It has the freshness of wet and green environment and shades of green omnipresent as the rice crops are nearing ripening.

Rivers and rivulets are full of crystal clear water which is as inviting.

Imran Hashmi and his allegations against a housing society

The posh housing society 'Nibban' has hit back at Imran Hashmi by demanding a apology for defaming the society after a Saturday meeting of the members.

The reasons for denial of NOC are not following a proper procedure by the seller as stated by the Secretary of the society Capt. Chetry. Imran Hashmi should not think that he is above the laws of this land.

More unfortunate thing is the issue escalated by Media or rather certain section of media. Who is trying to portray a discrimination case against the minority. Party to which are Mahesh Bhat, who is also relative of Imran Hashmi.

Thankfully, some of the bollywood stars who are themselves muslim by birth, have denied this kind of discrimination in the society. Shahrukh Khan has come out openly about it.

India launches its first nuclear submarine

India launched its first nuclear powered submarine in a ceremony in southern port city of Vishakhapatnam on Sunday the 26th July 2009, getting in the league of just six nations in the world to have successfully built one.

Indian military officials said the submarine would be capable of carrying nuclear weapons, however Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who attended the ceremony, said that the it was not built to threaten India’s neighbors.

The 367-foot Arihant, which means “destroyer of enemies” in Hindi, is part of a broad effort by the Indian government to create a military strength that matches India’s rising global stature.

The Arihant is the product of Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV) project. It is part of India's $3 billion plan to build five submarines and complete what it calls a "triad" of nuclear weapon launch capability - from air, land and sea. India is concurrently developing the K-15 ballistic missile, which can be nuclear-tipped and launched from submarines.

Naming the sea-link and politics

Last fortnight saw a political controversy over naming of the new bridge connection Bandra and Worli. It all started with opening ceremony of the bridge which was attended by Sonia Gandhi the congress high command and the high command of NCP Mr. Sharad Pawar as NCP and Congress are political bed fellows. The curious little thing is that, Sharad Pawar proposed to name this bridge by Rajiv Gandhi's name saying he was borne in Mumbai. To place some facts from history, the bridge was conceived during Sena-BJP tenure and they proposed to name it by Vir Savarkar.

Now one wonders why did Sharad Pawar proposed Rajiv's name. When actually his own stand these days are politicking on Maratha or Marathi first, be it for Prime Minister's post or Presidents. The underlining is that, Sharad Pawar is on looser's side even though he is in government with the help of congress. His problems are multiplied with his relative Mr. Padmasinh Patil in jail for a murder. He is desparate for congress help, and the state elections are due, where congress is making noises of going alone, in that scenerio NCP will be placed badly.

Inter-Bank ATM free of charge from April

The Reserve Bank of India circular, which has made inter-bank cash withdrawals for bank account holders through automated teller machines (ATMs) free of charge irrespective of bank in which they have account, has become effective from April 1 onwards. The newly-announced measure is expected to benefit countless ATM users countrywide, along with making the ATM usage more popular.

While ATM users from any bank will no longer be required to pay any charge for withdrawing money from an ATM, the banks have yet to decide upon a standardized rate that they would charge their counterparts for facilitating the proposed service.

Thus far, the charges pertaining to the inter-bank withdrawal facility was passed on by the banks to their clients. Lenders had either entered into bi-lateral or multi-lateral agreements, or were using national electronic fund transfer (NEFT) for speedy inter-bank fund transfers, at an economical cost.

There are some issues for the users, if the card gets stuck or cash not dispensed the user has to contact the service providing bank or the ATM owner. The users bank is not responsible for these scenarios.

Sewing machine hoax in Saudi Arabia

Saudi police say they are investigating a hoax that has seen people rushing to buy old-fashioned sewing machines for up to $50,000 (£33,500) an interesting read.

The Singer sewing machines are said to contain traces of red mercury, a substance that may not exist.

But it is widely thought that it can be used to find treasure, ward off evil spirits or even make nuclear bombs.

It is believed that tiny amounts can sell for millions of dollars, the Saudi Gazette reported.

The paper said that trade in the sewing machines was brisk across the country.

Rumours about the sewing machines have been spreading for days by word of mouth and over the internet, it said.

These included rumours that foreign experts and companies had been buying up Singers.

In Dhulum, it was reported that people had broken into two tailors' shops to steal the machines.

In the city of Madina, people were holding mobile phones up to the machines, due to the belief that they could be used to detect the presence of red mercury.

An interior ministry spokesman said authorities were trying to discover who had spread the rumours.

"We have to find out who started this hoax," he told Reuters news agency.

"People hope to make profit," he added. "This is no different to cases of citizens who put their money in untrustworthy schemes."

Yamaha FZ - S

After the two aces like R15 and FZ16, Yamaha has poised to build upon success with launch of FZ-S the more stylized version of FZ16. The package is same with cosmetic additions to improve upon already set image.

The bike is 150 cc, there should be improvement in mileage in the range of 50 KMPL, which in FZ16 comes around 40-45 and not so peppy compared to other offerings in the segment. Then the front number plate issue is not addressed it seems. The rear passenger seat is too small for grownup.

Pink chaddi campaign and the gang of weirdos

There is a campaign going on as a reaction to Srirama Sene's attacks on pub going youths. The campaign is started by a journo from Tehelka stead and it is as weird as the the recent history of Tehelka journos. It is named as 'pink chaddi' and started by Nisha Susan.

The kind of people who support this idea, is as usual reacting before thinking type. The blogspace used by campaign is bombarded by the messages which doesn't support the idea and Nisha has taken care to remove these messages while proclaiming the right of freedom of speech and expression.

All this excercise is to support the freedom of going to pub. Tomorrow, I sure they will get together and make simialr effort in support of infamous rave parties. Poor thing Nisha doesn't understand that with freedom you have to take responsibilities also. But these dumbos of these days don't understand anything beyond the material lusts.

Raj Thakre and Hindi and English electronic media

It is surprising that there are no after shocks in the media particularly Hindi and English electronic media. Raj has taken potshots at the approach of media in all the controversies where ever his involvement is. He targeted a Aajtak advertisement about TRP and pointed out how the media twists the political statements and creates controversies to gain TRP.

The shameless honchos in Hindi media, who were seen very partisan in reporting during those controversies. Labeling Raj Thakre as Hitler and preparing charge sheets on him. Is it the game of tapping insecurity of North Indians? Thakre's anger seems to be more at political organization of North Indians by Samajwadi Party and Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam. He attacked vehemently on Uttar Bhartiaya Diwas, stating it is no where celebrated in the North India and has become a political tool in the hands of UP and Bihari politicians in Mumbai.

At the ground level the Maharastrians in majority hate the North Indian ( read UP and Bihari) influx in Mumbai. As it is affecting the demography of the city and create overburdening on civic amenities. The landlocked city is already on shortage of land mass for housing and other civic amenities like water supply and sewage treatment. Rising crimanalities and some reports of base of terrorism in Ajamgadh district of Uttar Pradesh increases the anger again.

Pub Culture and Sriram Sene

Sriram Sene's deplorable act in Manglore is condemnable and has been condemned by many. By deplorable I mean no body has any right to take the law in hand. The so-called 'secular' english media at forefront of raising this issue. But the issues raised by Sriram Sene's action are very concering in the indian society.

The pub culture is rot brought by modernity and no bar life styles, and if somebody is using this issue to make it accetable then it is equally deplorable.

Wasted interests in the electronic media are using every opportunity in these election times to make the fast buck. The CNN-IBN group which seems to be sold out to Congress has used this issue to attack the BJP government in Karnataka. They have done it consistently in near past and seems never bother about the watchfull spectators, who can differentiate the real reporting and cooked up stories.

But time is never be same again. The company of Mulayam Singh and Amar Singh is bound to put him in another controversy. Tata Xenon pickup ready for launch

Tata Xenon is ready for the launch worldwide expect India. Check out the site http://xenon.tatamotors.com/fla/ for more information about the vehicle.

Xenon is a pickup truck powered by 2.2 litre Dicor engine already employed in Tata Safari and Sumo Grande. Apparently, the differences between Premium and Economy versions seems to be HVAC, alloys, leather steering wheel and fabric door pads.

There also a 3.0 version, but I reckon that won't be made available in India.

What lies in future?

Take it as a science or a science fiction. But worth reading it for apparently far fetched scientific imagination.

Hypnosis has successfully been used by professional therapists to treat a number of psychological problems. One such method involves regressing a patient to a younger age and eliciting memories of his childhood, where developmental crises can be re-lived and resolved. What follows is a transcribed portion of several audio tapes recorded during a regression therapy. The hypnotist, who will remain anonymous, accidentally triggered memories of both past and future lives.

This transcript is from one session that elicited memories of a life in the future-- a future where humanity has left the polluted planet Earth to live in orbiting space colonies.
